Create Wealth From Home

How do you create wealth from home? There are many ways - more than there have ever been before. In fact, I am sitting here in my underwear as I write this, and yes, I do make a good living with these web sites. An internet business may be one of the best ways to make money at home. Here is a short list of some other possibilities.

Other Ways To Create Wealth From Home

Invest In Real Estate - All you really need to start is some space on the kitchen table and a willingness to learn. There are free resources online to teach you how to invest - even with no money of your own. In fact, you can use the link here to get a Free Real Estate Investing Course. Or if you like the idea of fixing and flipping houses, go get a course on Flipping Real Estate.

Make A Hobby Into A Business - Think of ways to make your hobbies pay. A friend of mine made a painted plywood cow and put it in his yard. A passerby offered to buy it, so he sold it and made another. Soon he was selling them regularly. Think you can't create much wealth this way? How about paying someone to make them for you, and putting them in all the right stores?

Become An Expert Investor - More than a few people have created wealth from home by simply investing wisely in stocks. Now it is easier than ever, with all the information you need online. You will have to study well to beat the averages, but it can certainly be done from home.

Be A Copy Writer - Many companies pay big money for advertising copy. Some even pay residual income each time they use your advertising copy. There are several great courses out there that teach you how to write to sell things, and how to find clients.

Create Wealth With Your Home - The tax law now allows you to keep all your profits from the sale of your home tax-free - as long as you lived there for two years. Some enterprising people are moving from one "project" home to another every two years, pocketing as much as $100,000 in tax-free capital gains each time.

Rent Rooms In Your Home - This works especially well if you live in a college town. Even in many small towns you can get $100 per week for a room (all utilities included). If you have a spare bedroom, why not rent it out, and put that $5,000 per year straight into good investments. This is a relatively easy way to create wealth from home. Use the link here to learn all the ins and outs of Renting Rooms.

Investing Mistakes to Avoid

Along the way, you may make a few investing mistakes, yet there are big mistakes that you absolutely must avoid if you are to be a successful investor. For example, the biggest mistake is not to invest at all, or to put off investing until later. Make your money work for you – even if all you can spare is $20 a week to invest!

While not investing at all or putting off investing until later on are big mistakes, investing before you are in the financial position to do so is another big mistake. Get your current financial situation in condition first, and then start investing.

Get your credit cleaned up, pay off high interest loans and credit cards, and put at least three months of living expenses in savings. Once this is done, you are ready to begin allowing your money work for you.

Don’t invest to get rich quick. That is the riskiest type of investing that there is, and you will more than likely lose. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it! Instead, invest for the long term, and have the patience to weather the storms and allow your money to grow. Only invest for the short term when you know you will need the money in a short amount of time, and then stick with safe investments, such as certificates of deposit.

Don’t put all of your eggs into one basket. Scatter it around various types of investments for the best returns. Also, don’t move your money around too much. Let it ride. Pick your investments carefully, invest your money, and allow it to grow – don’t panic if the stock drops a few dollars. If the stock is a stable stock, it will go back up.

A common mistake that a lot of people make is believing that their investments in collectibles will really pay off. Again, if this were true, everyone would do it. Don’t count on your Coke collection or your book collection to pay for your retirement years! Count on investments made with cold hard cash instead.

Invest in Wealthy Affiliate Program

Earning money online is now quite a viable option and more and more people are turning to Internet businesses to look for money earning opportunities. There obviously is scope for everyone to earn money online and a great way to do so is by joining an affiliate program (I started this way). There are a lot of affiliate programs but the one that really stands out is “Wealthy Affiliates”. A wealthy affiliate compare result would show you how this particular program is better than the rest. This is the only affiliate program where:

* You will know precisely how to ensure a fixed online income, and a detailed lesson in how it is carried out.
* You are given knowledge funds to take you through all of the popular and in vogue selling procedures.
* You will find all the data as to know to achieve Search Engine Optimization, target the proper audience and market, etc.
* You will get to interact with many other online marketers with rich experience.
* You will receive useful training.
* And finally, you will get to see how you can earn money without having to make huge investments.

However, before you collaborate and get into the process of wealthy affiliate compare, you must keep in mind that there is NO SHORTCUT to success. You possibly cannot begin earning huge sums of money overnight and become a millionaire in a couple of days. True, there is a lot of scope for it, but like in all cases, you need to wait and put in your share of work before the dollar mills start rolling.

A quick glance at the wealthy affiliate compare results would show you how you can indeed start an Internet business and reap profits quite soon. What you need to do is:

1. Direct prospective buyers to the websites of the companies. You will learn how to do this by going through the methods and plans taught to you at wealthy affiliates.

2. If the people you directed to the website buy a product of the company, you are paid a commission and that is generally quite a hefty amount of money.

3. Keep referring websites to people and get money transferred to your paypal or bank account every month.

Weigh the services of any other website against those of wealthy affiliates and you will see how convincing the results of the wealthy affiliate compare will be. Work with wealthy affiliates, a website that has a great track record and is helping hundreds of people in earning money online every single day.

Money Mistakes - Are You Making These Two?

Everyone makes money mistakes at times. We may be vaguely aware that we're making a mistake when it happens, or it may be entirely ignorance. The science of behavioral economics is showing just how subtle these things can be. Consider the following two money mistakes - are you making them?

Mental Accounting Money Mistakes

Mental accounting is a term used by researchers in the field of behavioral economics. It refers to how we treat money from different sources differently. If you work hard to save $2,000, you might be very careful in how you spend it, for example, while a $2,000 tax refund - which seems like a lottery win - might be treated much more frivolously. The amount is the same, and you're free to use it any way you choose, but a "windfall" is typically treated differently from earned income by most people.

I saw extreme examples of this when I dealt blackjack. Players had a mental category they called "house money," which was the profit that they had made, or the amount that they were ahead. A woman might be very cautious betting with her "own" $200 bankroll, but once she had $600 of winnings in front of her, she would start betting more and playing more carelessly. "Oh, I'm just playing with "house money" she would explain.

The reality is that once a man wins the money in the first place, it's all his money - the same as any other money he has. He can walk out that door and do anything he wants with it. A typical gambler might stop before he ever lost $600 of "his own" money, but losing the "house money" is somehow a different story, with a predictable ending. With common sense he could choose to lose even $500 of his $600 win and still leave with a profit, but more often, he will lose the $600 AND whatever bankroll he brought.

Think this is not a problem of yours? Hmm... What if you won $1,000 on a lottery ticket, or got a $1,000 bonus at work? Would you take your windfall and put it into your retirement account or your child's college account? Would you really treat such money the same as if you worked weekends to make an extra thousand dollars? "Metal accounting" is an easy money mistake to make.

Money Mistake - Integrating Losses

Here's another tough one to avoid making. Notice how when you buy that new car, an extra $400 for a better car stereo doesn't seem like much? You are spending $22,000 for a car, making $400 seem like "just a little extra" - and that's why that salesman will push these extras. Now consider that if it isn't too much for stereo, why did it seem like a lot to buy one for your previous vehicle? In fact, perhaps just the day before you might have thought $200 was too much to spend.

The psychology here is about making large purchases or taking large losses on something. It s also another classic habit you see in gamblers. A man thinks $100 is too much to lose at the start of the night, but once he is suckered into losing $2,000, it seems easier to bet that last $100 on one hand of blackjack. The phenomenon isn't limited to gamblers or new car buyers, though.

Let's suppose you're having a new house built for your family. The builder has you excited about the latest refrigerator, which he'll include for only $3,000 more. Now, that same refrigerator might have been worth just $1,800 maximum to you one month earlier. You might even buy one for just $1,500 if you wait until you move into the house. However, because you're spending (or borrowing) $300,000 to have a home built, $3,000 just doesn't seem like so much.

To avoid making this money mistake you have to mentally step outside of the situation and ask yourself if the proposed expenditure is one you would have felt good with a week ago. Consider any other options you have, and finally, just wait a bit. A few weeks later - after a large purchase - you might be in a more rational state of mind to decide what something is worth to you. It is tough to avoid these money mistakes, but it is worth it.

Ten Financial Mistakes

Why do we make so many financial mistakes? Studies in the new fields of evolutionary economics and behavioral economics are starting to shed light on this. In the meantime, here are ten common money mistakes to avoid. How many are you making?

1. Getting Competitive

Unless you are playing poker or negotiating a business or investment deal, trying to "beat" anyone else is a bad habit. Being the first to buy new technology means you get the worst version at the highest price. "Winning" at an auction means you paid more than anyone else was willing to. The science of evolutionary economics explains why we feel this need to "win." It has to do with position in the tribe, which used to increase one's survival odds, but this tendency of ours is of very little value in a modern economy.

2. Thinking Someone Owes You Something

Unless you have a contract or at least a promise, nobody owes you a thing. Not the government, society or your boss. Getting hung up on what is "owed" to you is a financial mistake because it gets in the way of doing what is necessary for financial health. Consider how health insurance came to be expected of large employers. It was based on nothing more than the fact that many provided it. If many companies had provided cars to employees, we would think we are "owed" a car by any good employer.

Never mind what is "owed" to you. Work honestly to get what you can. Try for that raise, but if you aren't paid enough, find another job. Take that unemployment benefit if it's available, but don't rely on these programs. When you stop looking for your "due" you can start looking at what others want, and then provide that for a profit, even if that profit is in the form of a paycheck.

3. Thinking Value Is All About Prices

If a television normally sells for $900 and is on sale for $400, most people think it's a great deal. But the value of personal items is measured by what the individual user needs and wants. If you can be as happy with a $200 television, then the other is over-priced from your perspective. A personal purchase is worth what usefulness it has to you, and nothing more.

4. Thinking Value Is All About You

I saw a man lose $30,000 by pricing his home too high and leaving it empty for years. This is one of the more common financial mistakes. Value, when it comes to investments, has nothing to do with what a thing is worth to you. Value is what the market will pay.

Don't confuse personal consumption items with investments. A car is not an investment. Even that $22,000 kitchen remodeling project isn't, if future buyers will pay only $10,000 more for your home as a result. It doesn't matter at all if you think it added $30,000 in value. Enjoy that new stove and cupboards, because they were not investments, but a $12,000 (your net loss) personal purchase.

5. Thinking High Profits Are Unfair

If a sale is honest, the price is fair. It wastes your time and mental energy to think a business makes too much profit. Suppose your own house has a market value of $400,000. You wouldn't lower the price to make it more "fair," so why expect any business to charge less than what the market dictates? The profit made on something is entirely irrelevant to what its value is to you. Buy it or not, but don't waste time complaining about a profit you would gladly accept if you were on the other side of the transaction.

6. Comparing Yourself To Others

The classic "keeping up with the Jones's" is perhaps one of the worst financial mistakes. There is little evidence that buying more toys and better cars and homes makes people happier. On the other hand, there is evidence that the debt taken on in this process creates stress that does get in the way of a happy life. Never think about what others have when deciding what you need.

7. Buying For Status

Again, there is no evidence that impressing others with what you have makes you happier. In fact, this catering to the ego makes one more dependent on the opinions of others and therefore more afraid of losing that status. Apart from the resulting stress and desperation, there are the financial consequences of buying more than you need. Unless you need something for a particular financial purpose (a real estate agent may need a nice car to drive clients around in), don't think at all about what others will think. That includes thinking you'll impress others with the "deal" you got. The latter is a good way to go broke "saving" money on purchases.

8. Not Considering The Bottom Line

I once worked at a casino where 20 employees quit because of a change in pay that amounted to a 20% increase in hourly pay. The details are funny, sad, and not worth getting into here. A summary of the reason for the departures: employees were angry about the $1.50 per hour base pay (the casino was on an Indian reservation which didn't need to abide by minimum wage laws). Though with tips they would get more than they used to make, many preferred to work for less money than be paid "unfairly." You may have also seen people take jobs that pay several dollars per hour less than others because they have better benefits - even though those benefits could be easily bought from the excess pay of the other jobs.

9. Looking Only At The Bottom Line

It's important that you make enough money to pay the bills, but looking only at the bottom line is one of the worst financial mistakes you can make. You may not always love the work you do, but if it only pays the bills you better like it or look for something else to do. Jobs you don't like can serve a temporary financial purpose, like providing savings to buy a home or eventually follow your passion. On the other hand, if you can work at something you love, why look for more pay elsewhere?

10. Looking To Government To Solve Financial Problems

This one is under the category of "cultural financial mistakes." We want something for nothing, preferring for example, to believe that government can make more oil appear on earth rather than adjust our habits as prices rise. Looking to government to "control" prices or solve financial problems creates a victim mentality that gets in the way of simply doing the best we can with our time and money.

We forget too, that all laws are enforced at the point of a gun. Is it really fair for us to negotiate that way? We always have a choice to buy or not to buy. No honest company sells a single thing for more than buyers are willing to pay, or there wouldn't be a sale.

Of course there are many other money mistakes that people make. This list didn't even touch on the issues related to buying on credit. There are enough financial mistakes made in that area to create a whole new list.

Ready To Be A Blogger?

I'm not really a blogger - yet. I put up a blog years ago because I heard that it helps with search engine optimization of my sites (by linking to them from the blog). I never quite understood how to make money blogging until I read an ebook and some articles by Yaro Starak. I am taking another look at this now, and I found a couple of his articles to put on this website. Here is one on with some really good tips.

10 Blog Traffic Tips

In every blogger's life comes a special day - the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else's blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader - you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that's about as far you went when it comes to finding readers. Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers.

These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called "traction", which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.

Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major "pillar" articles. A pillar article is usually a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good "how-to" lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn't news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don't have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need an easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that's the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you've done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people's blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger's article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry - it's sort of like your blog telling someone else's blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important - it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival enjoy a spike in new readers.

To find the right blog carnival for your blog, do a search at http://blogcarnival.com/.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it's so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it's worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn't bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it's worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have - your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your "Resource Box". You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I've listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won't stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

This article was by Yaro Starak, a professional blogger and my blog mentor. He is the leader of the Blog Mastermind mentoring program designed to teach bloggers how to earn a full time income blogging part time.

Ten Creative Advertising Ideas

The creative advertising ideas that follow are specifically about finding new places and ways. It's an area that has always been full of potential for innovation. It was an article I recently read on a company called Show Media that prompted me to write this page.

3,000 taxis in New York carry advertising placed there by Show Media. Clients (which include Levis, Nike and other big companies) are charged $200 per month for each ad, and Show Media pays $100 to the cab company per month. leaving enough room for healthy profits. Owner Laurence Hallier says that a typical campaign cost $40,000 per month for exposure on 200 taxis, and is seen by 25% of the city's residents daily.

The article got me to thinking about what other creative advertising ideas and opportunities are out there. I am coming up with the following short as I write this, and without research, some of these ideas may have already been put into practice.

Audio Advertising - An ad automatically plays as people walk by certain locations. Clients could be charged by the number of times an ad plays (they get a good deal when more than one pedestrian happens to be there to hear the ad). A company could also sell the actual machines to specific businesses to use as they wish. For example, a restaurant might have a recording that is triggered by each passer-by, saying something like, "Hi there! Come on in right now and you'll get a free drink with your lunch."

Residential Sign Advertising - Although I'm not sure about the legality of this in most places, many yards have signs supporting political candidates or announcing that some company just replaced the windows or did the siding, so why not have paid advertising too? The home owners who participate get a monthly check for each sign. Advertisers pay twice that, leaving room for a profit for the company that provides this service.

Ads On Street Signs - Many cities are looking for additional revenue, so how about placing advertising on street signs to provide that money? The city gets the monthly revenue, but in addition to that the company that arranges this might have to make new signs for the city, saving it this expense.

Car Ads - This is being done in some areas already, but what's needed is a simple system for organizing in from both ends. Ad buyers can call or visit, and a driver can pull in, have a sign attached to his or her car, and get a check for keeping it there for a month or a year.

Flying Ads - Some areas have consistent breezes, so it might be possible to have kites flying most of the day with large ads visible on each. Of course beaches are a natural location, but this may work in other places.

Murals On Buildings - This could be an opportunity for a budding artist who need to make some money. Find an ugly building and ask the owner how much he would charge to have a nice advertising mural painted on its side. Find advertisers who will pay enough to leave a decent profit and you're in business. The building owner might have to be offered final approval on the planned mural and should agree to leave it there for at least a year.

Movie Box Ads - This isn't about advertising on the box in which a DVD is sold. But many movie rental stores have their own blank boxes (usually plastic) that they send out all of their movies in. They could sell advertising on those for local products or services (a restaurant, for example), or products available nationally as well. A busy store sends out hundreds of movies a day, so this could provide a lot of exposure for the advertisers and therefore a decent source of revenue for the store.

Scent Advertising - Pump the smell of fresh cooked food onto busy sidewalks, alongside a sign or audio ad promoting a restaurant. If you think about how much more you spend grocery shopping when you are hungry, you can see the value to a restaurant of stimulating that hunger.

Plant Ads - People's bushes could be trimmed into the shape of a company logo, or a company might offer to care for a row of bushes that decorate a road in exchange for trimming them how they want. Plant and flower beds could be grown in the pattern of a logo or even to spell out slogans. Farmers fields near airports could have ads cut into them to be seen by plane passengers flying overhead ("Stay at our hotel when you land").

Advertising Games - Word-of-mouth advertising could be boosted by making it into a contest. Let the participants sign up online and get a number which they give out with their recommendation for the product or service. The one who refers the most customers in a year wins a big prize.

These are ten ways to advertise that I thought of in the forty-five minutes it took to write this page. You might want to brainstorm a few to add to the list.

How To Make Money - Three Principles

When you think about how to make money, do you think about jobs, businesses or investments? There's nothing wrong with that, but all these ways have their examples of success and failure. In other words, some people fail at the same thing which other succeed at, and we have to ask why? That leads to a deeper understanding of how to make money, as suggested in the following three principles.

1. Value Trading

Late-night television "get rich quick" infomercials usually cater to people who think there is an "angle" or "secret" which makes it easy. There are tricks, tips, techniques and tools that will help, and this is why these products usually can help the right person. But in the end, making money is about trading value, meaning you need to provide something of value to others to consistently succeed.

Those who think the first question is how to separate people from their money are tempted to use any means, resulting in dissatisfied customers, less repeat business, and eventual failure in most cases. A better first question is how to provide real value. It is serving people well that makes them happy to pay you well, and this is true whether you're an employee (with the employer as your customer) or the owner of a business.

2. Do What's Necessary

Having something of value to offer isn't enough by itself, however. Doing what needs to be done is another often-ignored principle. Commit to a plan and take action, and "do" instead of "try." When we "give it a try" we often quit at the first sign of trouble or unpleasant work. See mistakes as opportunities to learn and move on. The idea isn't to keep repeating what doesn't work, but to learn as you go and keep doing something towards the goal.

Those looking for "easy money" are usually not willing to learn what is necessary. A man hears that there's good money in building, for example, which is something he knows nothing about. Instead of learning what he needs to know he hopes that taking the test for his contractors license is all he needs. A wiser (or less lazy) man might have could have worked in the field for a while to learn the basics, or asked for help to learn how to run a business, or bought a book on how to market his services.

Instead, the easy-money guy he takes the easy route - which leads to failure. Maybe you've seen this scenario played out with friends who think they want to be an actor, start a business, invest in the stock market. We need to do what needs to be done to make money, and learn what we need to learn.

3. Know Yourself

Naturally, it's tough to do what is necessary if you hate every aspect of it, so think carefully about yourself when making decisions about jobs, business and investing. A business you aren't suited to or ready for won't just make you grumpy. When you ignore your interests, skills and abilities it is easy to choose the wrong way to make money - a recipe for failure.

This is an important key to how to make money. There will always be parts of a job or business that you aren't thrilled about, but you need to have at least some interest (and ability) to sustain your commitment.

Ask yourself what you can do, what skills and abilities and work habits you have, and what activities you enjoy. Are you good working with others, and with clients? Do you have a lot of energy? Are you known to quit too easily, and what did you do that contributed to previous failures? Can this business or job or investing path keep you motivated and ready to start each day? What will you need to do, and what are you willing to learn? Are there personal changes you'll need to make? Answering questions like these as honestly as possible may be one of the surest ways to learn how to make money.

Make Money Online (Without Spending a Dime)

Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new generation of dot-coms have arisen that will pay you for what you know and who you know without you having to be a web designer or a marketing genius.

But it's hard to tell hype from the real deal. I did a search on "make money online" and "making money online", and much of the information out there is just promoting various infoproducts, mostly about Internet marketing. I see why people sometimes ask, "Is anyone making money online besides Internet marketing experts?"

So I put together a list of business opportunities with legitimate companies that:

* Pay cash, not just points towards rewards or a chance to win money
* Don't require you to have your own Web domain or your own products
* Don't involve any hard-selling
* Aren't just promoting more Internet marketing
* Give a good return on your time investment

In the interest of objectivity, none of the links below are affiliate links, and none of them have paid or provided any other consideration for their presence here. These are legitimate companies with business models that allow you to get paid for a wide range of activities.

Help friends find better jobs.

Sites like ReferEarns, Zyoin, Who Do You Know For Dough?, Bohire and WiseStepp connect employers with prospective employees, many of whom are already employed and not actively job-hunting, via networking - the people who know these qualified candidates. Rewards for referring a candidate who gets hired range from $50 on up to several thousand dollars - not chump change. If you know a lot of job-seekers (and who doesn't these days?), this is a great way to break into the recruiting business with no overhead.

Connect suppliers with buyers.

Referral fees are a common practice in business, but they haven't been used much in online networking sites because there was no way to track them. Sites like Salesconx, InnerSell and uRefer now provide that. Vendors set the referral fees they're willing to pay (and for what), and when the transaction happens, you get paid. uRefer also allows merchants to set up referral programs for introductions and meetings, as well as transactions.

Write.

A growing number of sites will pay for your articles or blog posts. Associated Content and Helium will "pay for performance" based on page views for just about anything you want to write about. Articles on specific topics they're looking for can earn direct payments up to about $200. The rates are probably low for established writers, but if you're trying to break into the field and have time on your hands, they're a great way to start. Also, a lot of companies are looking for part-time bloggers. They may pay per post or on a steady contract. Our Weblogs Guide posts blogging jobs weekly in the forum.

Start your own blog.

You don't have to have your own Web site, or install blogging software, or even figure out how to set up the advertising. At Blogger you can set up a blog for free in less than five minutes without knowing a thing about web design, and Blogger even automates setting up Google AdSense so you can make money off your blog by displaying ads and getting paid when people click on the ads. To make even more money from it, set up an affiliate program (see below) for books, music, etc., and insert your affiliate links whenever you refer to those items. You'll have to get a lot of traffic to become a six-figure blogger, but pick an interesting topic, write well, tell all your friends, and you're off to a good start.

Create topical resource hubs.

Are you an expert on a particular niche topic? Can you put together an overview of the topic and assemble some of the best resources on the topic from around the web? Then you can create topical hubs and get paid through sites like Squidoo, HugPages and Google Knol. Payments are based on a combination of ad revenue and affiliate fees. You'll get higher rates doing it on your own, but these sites have a built-in supply of traffic and tools to make content creation easier.

Advertise other people's products.

If you already have a Web site or a blog, look for vendors that offer related but non-competing products and see if they have an affiliate program. Stick to familiar products and brands - they're easier to sell. To promote those products:

* Place simple text or graphical ads in appropriate places on your site
* Include links to purchase products you review or recommend in a blog, discussion forum or mailing list you control
* Create a dedicated sales page or Web site to promote a particular product

They all work - it just depends on how much time you have to spend on it and your level of expertise with Web design and marketing.

Microstock photography.

You don't have to be a professional photographer to sell your photos for money. People are constantly in need of stock photography for websites, presentations, brochures and so on, and are willing to pay for the right image. People generally search for images on stock photography sites by keywords, not by photographer, so you have the same chance as anyone else of having your image picked. Just be careful that you don't have images of trademarked brands, copyrighted art or people's faces that are readily identifiable (unless you have a model release), but just about anything else is fair game, and I promise - you'd be amazed what people need pictures of, so don't make any assumptions. If it's a decent photo, upload it. Some sites to get you started include Fotolia, ShutterStock, Dreamstime and iStockphoto. The great thing about this is that it's truly "set it and forget it".

The above list is by no means comprehensive, but it highlights some of the new and interesting ways to make money online without investing any money, without having a product of your own, and without having expert sales and marketing skills. Most of all, unlike taking surveys or getting paid to read e-mail, the potential return on your time investment is substantial.

5 Tips for Monetizing Online Video Advertising

The use of online video is rapidly becoming mainstream for publishers as well as advertisers. Yet, publishers are still trying to figure out how best to capitalize on this trend and balance how much advertising in your video content is too much and annoying to the viewer.

The Mequoda Group, LLC is an online publishing and consulting company devoted to helping publishers of all forms master the Internet. Adam T. Sutton, managing editor, Mequoda Group, often blogs and writes articles for Mequoda Daily, a free e-mail newsletter, blog and RSS feed that sends five tips a week to more than 6,000 subscribers. He suggests that, especially now because of the increasing popularity of online video, it is important that publishers learn how to monetize this form of advertising.

“That popularity has caused more online publishers to offer video, but unfortunately a best practice for online video advertising has not emerged, yet. Research is still required for publishers to find the ideal video ads that will generate a high response rate for sponsors ….”

Sutton says that publishers that can achieve that delicate balance will continue to attract Web site visitors and high-paying sponsors.

“The best thing publishers can do when trying to monetize online video is to keep their audience’s needs in mind,” he says.

Publishing Executive Inbox asked Sutton for advice on keeping the audience’s needs in mind, and he offered the following five tips:

1) Don’t frustrate the audience.

Avoid ads that are going to frustrate your audience, no matter how much a sponsor is willing to pay for them. It is easy to be blinded by big dollar signs, but don’t forget that your ad revenue is a function of your audience size. If you drive away your audience with annoying, irrelevant ads, then the ad revenue is going to dry up. The goal is to find a balance that keeps your audience and your sponsors happy.

2) Test the waters.

Dip your toe into the water before jumping in. Every new type of ad should be tested before it is fully adopted to avoid annoying your entire audience. Start small with an ad in one video and gradually expand it to others. You can also hold testing labs. Play a video containing an ad for viewers and ask them, “On a scale of one to 10, how obtrusive did you find the advertisement?” Then ask them to rate the ad’s relevancy.

3) Be relevant.

A 30–second clip highlighting the latest and greatest frying pan should not precede a video about skateboarding. However, that ad might do well placed before a video-recipe for key lime pie. Users will respond better to ads targeted to their interests, so match your sponsors’ ads to your videos’ content.

4) Encourage your advertisers to use ads that are entertaining.

Television commercials that only have promotional content cause viewers to change the channel. [Work with your advertisers to] use ads that make people say, “This is my favorite commercial. Everyone come here and see this.” This is the television equivalent of viral marketing online. If the ads you use are funny or interesting, viewers will share them with their friends, which will increase your Web site traffic and your sponsor’s return.

5) Don’t be afraid to try new types of ads.

The traditional 30–second television commercial has been reborn online as the ‘pre-roll’ [online video ads that roll immediately before the content], but many times these ads rub viewers the wrong way.

There are many other types of ads being developed. YouTube recently announced its InVideo ads that feature “animated overlays that appear on the bottom 20 percent of a video. If you’re interested by what you see there, clicking on the overlay launches a deeper interactive video ad that we think is relevant and entertaining,” as explained on the YouTube blog. Research what types of ads are available. Some of them may satisfy your audience and your sponsors more than the traditional television-commercial ads would.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

Rule 2:The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 7:Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rainforest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8:Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you the test as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9:Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10:Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11:Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

Best thing that we get with Blogads is that we have full control over the advertisers that will be placed on our blog which we were missing with Google Adsense. But to make any real money with it, we should keep ads rate reasonable. We will not be able to make any money from our blogs if we become too choosy about advertisers or keep our rates too high.

- Selling more text/banner ads: For addition revenue, we can sell private ads on our blogs by creating an ‘Advertise here’ kind of section on our blog. With private ads, we can sell text and banners in different formats on our blog. In this kind of advertising scheme, we have full control over everything and its up how much we charge from the advertisers and whom to show on our blogs. The only downside to this method is that we need bulk of traffic if we are looking to make any money with private ads on our blog.

- Paid Reviews: There are many paid review websites on internet where we are paid for every review about a product/website on our blog. Some of popular paid review/blogging websites are PayPerPost (PPP), SponsoredReviews.com, ReviewMe.com and Smorty.com. But we must do paid reviews about websites that are someway related to our blog. And if possible, we should do limited amount of paid reviews in a month time. If we keep on adding paid/sponsored posts on our blog, we are having the risk of using credibility and reader’s faith from our blog.

- Affiliate programs: We can try some affiliate program to earn some extra money from our blogs. Amazon.com is a popular affiliate program. In this kind of advertising, we have to place Amazon products on our blogs with our affiliate ID and when any of our blog readers follow those links to buy a product from Amazon, we earn commission up to 15 percent depending upon the sold product. Some other popular affiliate programs are LinkShare, CommissionJunction and ClickBank

Adding a Donation Button: There are some websites like Paypal.com that helps you add a Donation Button on your blog. Asking some kind of donation from blog readers is the easiest way to make money online. Some of your blog readers may help you run your blog with some donation if they really love the content on your blog.

Top 5 ways to make money online with Twitter

Twitter is a micro-blogging platform where you can stay in touch with your friends, colleagues, top personalities, Gurus in any niche and of course your customers with your Tweets with your Tweets which can carry up to 140 words. But before thinking of making any money with Twitter, you need a big list of subscribers here on Twitter. And if you already don’t have thousands of subscribers sitting in your Twitter account, I would suggest you try Twitter Traffic Machine which is an automatic system to increase thousands of targeted followers in your Twitter account.

No doubt, Twitter is not a quick get rich scheme. Making money with Twitter is similar to making money with Blogging. Added benefit that we have with Twitter is that we don’t need to pay for hosting. All we need is an internet connection and patience to start making money with Twitter. In today’s post I am going to highlight top 5 ways any individual can use to make money online with their Twitter accounts:

1. Direct advertising: there may be some advertisers in your niche who are interested in advertising about their products if you have large number of subscribers on Twitter.
2. Hold contests: there are many advertisers who are willing to hold a contest using a popular Twitter account to reach their targeted audience and to get their feedback and thoughts about their products and services and to create some brand awareness.
3. Doing Paid Reviews: you can do paid review about a particular product you want to sell via Twitter. And if you are in the affiliate marketing niche, you can promote your affiliate products by sending promotion Tweets about the products you want to sell and don’t forget to include your affiliate link in your Tweet and shorten your affiliate link using TinyUrl.com. Suppose you generally tweet about money making ideas on your Twitter account, then you should promote affiliate products that talk about making money, seo, blogging and internet marketing niche.
4. Twitter Consulting: why don’t try making money with Twitter consulting where you offer to help individuals and companies to utilize Twitter at its best.
5. Affiliate product selling: You can link to any affiliate product in your Tweets and can even promote your own product with Twitter. And when you sell your created product, you will have all profit going in your pocket. Suppose one of your Twitter’s subscribers is asking about the best email marketing software, you should recommend him the best email marketing software like Aweber or Getresponse and can include your affiliate link in your reply. So if you already don’t have an affiliate account, apply for any of affiliate site like ClickBank, Amazon, LinkShare, Commission Junction or any affiliate site that has the product you are aiming to sell to your followers on Twitter. When you send your affiliate links to your readers on Twitter, some of them will click your links and there will be some people who will actually buy some product that you recommended. So it’s all about having big list of targeted followers and sending Tweets with your affiliate links when most of your subscribers are online. But don’t send only promotion Tweets to your readers otherwise they will feel you are spamming them with your affiliate links. So the best idea will be like including your affiliate link in every 10th or 15th Tweet that you send to your readers.

So are you guys able to make money online with Twitter? If yes, please share your experience with all readers here on Scopeformoney blog.

How to Make Money With Your Website

This is the fun part — actually making money online with your website. There are tons of ways to do this, so feel free to mix and match the following concepts, or come up with one of your own.

Note that you’ll need to experiment with your monetization. A website that might only make $10 a day from adsense could make $1000 from affiliate programs. Choose your method of making money wisely.
Advertising Programs

Advertising programs are the most popular way to make an income with a website — almost every website has them. There are plenty of companies that give you a special code to put on your website. This code then looks like a block of advertisements when visitors see it.

There are basically direct types of online advertisements — CPC, CPM and direct ads.

“CPC” stands for “Cost Per Click”, which means you’ll make money only when someone clicks on your ad. You can make anywhere between 10 cents and 10 dollars per click.

“CPM” stands for “Cost Per Thousand”, which means you’ll get paid when people see the ads — just a very, very small amount. You might get paid $1-2 per thousand times someone sees the ads.

A direct ad is when you are paid directly for the ad to be listed on your website. This amount isn’t dependent on how much traffic will see their ad or how many clicks they get — they’re making a decision to trust that your website will make their ad worth while.

CPC Advertising Programs

* AdSense.com
* AdBright.com
* Chitika.com

CPM Advertising Programs

* BannerConnect.net
* RightMedia.com
* Revenue.net

Direct Advertising Programs

* PerformancingAds.com
* OIOPublisher.com

These are just the start. There are hundreds of advertising programs to be found online. Do some digging and you can find more.
Sell Products

A website is basically a storefront — you can sell products. You can sell anything from birdhouses to pet food to wholesale watches — if it exists, you can sell it.

Even if you don’t own your own product, you can sell a product for another person or company. That’s called “affiliate marketing”, and you can read about it below.
Affiliate Programs

Affiliate marketing is where you become a sort-of online salesperson for a company or person. You get a special link that only you have — anyone who buys/signs up through your link will be registered in the main database. The computer will track how many sales you make, and you’ll get a comission.

For example, at my financial website, I’m a salesperson for banks and “sell” savings accounts. If someone signs up for a savings account through my site, I’ll make about $25. That’s how affiliate programs work.

ClickBank.com
CJ.com
Amazon.com
Last Thoughts

There are tons of more ways to make money online. You can sell a service (consulting, reviews, advice, graphic design, freelance writing, etc), sell links (risky) and dozens of other things.

Personally, I use a mixture of affiliate programs and advertising programs. I find they go together well.

If you haven’t built your website yet, then read the 10-step program to get started.

How to Make Money Online

Welcome to one of the few “make money online” websites that actually encourages you to slow down and plan out your online journey. The goal of this website is to explain exactly how to make money online.

No, you don’t have to be a computer genius or have vast technical knowledge. If you can do email, you can make money online. I’ve made it easier by writing completely free instructions guiding you every step of the way. All you have to do is read.
Quick-Start Guide to Making Money Online

Though there are thousands of websites dealing with earning money, there are really only 4 ways to make money on the Internet. Every website, program and system are simply types of these 4 general methods:

1. Incentivized Freebie Websites

In an economy like what we’re seeing now, businesses are simply dying to get new customers. They’re so desperate to advertise that they’re willing to give you an “incentive” just to check out their offers.

Most of these websites are slanted in the business’ favor. However, there are a few websites that are now offering you free incentives. You sign up, you DON’T pay anything, and you can make a few hundred dollars.

Project Payday is a great example of this — and it’s free. You won’t get rich, but you can make $2,500 or so per month if you’re willing to check out the products. Again, it’s free — don’t pay any website to do this, considering you can sign up to Project Payday for free.

Note: if you do what they say and you can’t make money, let them know. They’ll give you $100 free as a guarantee.

2. Home Business Opportunities

This is probably the most diverse way to make money online. There are so many different variations I can’t possibly detail them all here. Most are scams.

I don’t want to sound pessimistic, but as I have explained on this website before, but don’t sign up for any project or any business that doesn’t provide free information to you about what they do. This will weed out literally 99% of home business opportunities.

That said, if you’re interested in starting an internet business and want some material to “digest” and think over, then sign up at Internet Cash Systems. It’s free. It’s also geared towards beginners.

3. Filling Out Surveys

As we talked about above, some businesses are willing to pay for you to just read their advertisements. Many of the same businesses are also willing to pay you a small sum of money in order to take surveys.

Their reasons are everything from trying to understand the market better, to putting their offer in front of you again. They’re betting you are going to cave and buy their product. If you have self-control then filling out surveys might be for you.

You certainly aren’t going to retire to Tahiti from your survey earnings. Still, places like Valued Opinions is willing to give you $5 per short-survey you complete — and up to $50 for the specialist surveys.

Send Earnings does the exact same thing regarding the surveys — but sends the surveys to your email. You can get paid for reading over emails. You’ll get a free $5 sign-up bonus. This will take time and your earnings won’t be much.

Personally, I don’t have the patience to do it, but if you have, all the more power to you.

4. Build a Website Business

That said, out of the thousands of “online opportunities” out there, the best way to make money online is with your own website. This is how I earn my income online. This, however, isn’t good if you need quick money, or want to get rich quick.

Building a website takes a ton of planning, a ton of work, and a ton of time. It can take up to a year before you see a full-time income.

But it’s also a passive income. I can stop working right now and go to the pool, but my websites will all still be up and earning an income from advertisements — my business makes money without me now. That’s the biggest pull. To learn more about building a website, read to the end of this page.
How to Pick and Choose a Program

When it comes to picking out a way to make money, remember that you’re trying to make money, not spend money. In other words, only pick a project that guarantees that you’ll make money, and is free to sign up. Otherwise, make very, very sure you trust a program before giving them a red cent.

Thousands have learned this the hard way. Don’t be a statistic. Sign up to learn more about a project before you spend money — if you ever do. Become acquainted with other similar programs before making a decision. Check out free programs before “paid” programs.

Ten minutes of research can save you hours of headache, and let you choose the right program so you can actually make money rather than get burned.
Making Money Online With a Website

The vast majority of this website is about starting your own website.

The reason is simple: it’s the best way to make money online. Anyone can do it, it’s a passive income, and you can get started instantly. It’s not a job; it’s a business.

There are a lot of myths about websites, blogging and making money online in general. Check out my article How Websites Make Money Online to learn more about how websites actually make money.

If you’d like to find out more about the wonderful author of this website, then check out the About Page. You can read my story there.
Who Can Make Money Online?

Absolutely anyone can make money online. It’s an old myth that you have to be a “computer geek” to own a website, or make money with a free program like Project Payday. Those days are over.

If you have an email address or use Facebook or any other website where you have an account, then you can set up your own website.

That said, making money online with a website isn’t for everyone. You have to be willing to look ahead, make plans, and work hard. If you just want to slap a blog together, write a few things to put on it, and then forget it ever existed, you’re probably best sticking with Project Payday.

Project Payday is free, so there isn’t any risk. But starting a website costs anywhere from $100 to $300. This is still dirt cheap considering you’re starting a business, but if you aren’t willing to work at it, it’s just a waste.

Making money online isn’t about “getting rich quick”. If that’s what you’re after, it’s not possible. After all, if we could all get rich quick and easily, then we’d all be rich.

That said, you can achieve almost any online income goals if you’re willing to plan well and work hard. If anything, this is an anti-get-rich-quick scheme because you’ll have to work hard at it for a long period of time. It just takes a good plan and a strong work ethic.
What’s The Best Way to Make Money Online?

If the above sounds discouraging, don’t lose heart. Starting a website was the best financial decision of my life — so much that I’ve made this page a part of my financial planning website. I think everyone right now should at least try to start a website.

Bill Gates once said:

“This is a fantastic time to be entering the business world, because business is going to change more in the next 10 years than it has in the last 50.”

As I’ve described above, the best way to make money online is with a website. A website only has to be created once, and it exists indefinitely. That means rather than getting paid “by the hour” or “by the day” you get paid forever.

Work once, earn forever. That’s why, in a nutshell, making money online has grown to extraordinary popularity in the past few years. It let’s anyone build a passive income online.
What Should I Do Now?

To help you in the website department, I wrote an article that details every step you’ll need to take to build a money-making website. It will hold your hand throughout the entire process. It’s called the ten-step plan.

So what should you do right now? One of two things:

* Sign up for Project Payday. Sign up for Project Payday to make money to get started. After you make money with the program, make sure to come back to put your money to good use.

* Start up your website. When you buy your hosting and domain (you buy them together at the same time), make sure to come back here and keep reading.

Before you keep reading, I want to say something personal: the biggest mistake I made when trying out making money online for myself was that I waited nearly an entire year before I finally acted. I don’t even want to think about how much money I wasted by not being decisive.

Wasting time is wasting money.

Before you get up from the computer, promise yourself to make a single real step towards making money online. Even if it’s something silly like making this page your homepage to remind you to act, do something. Otherwise, you’ll hate yourself in 12 months.

So either sign up for Project Payday, or complete step one of the Ten-Step Plan. Congratulations on your decision to make money online, and good luck!
